kebab-case

Lowercase words separated by hyphens — e.g. user-profile, content-type, my-package.

Where you see it

Standard for CSS class names, URL path segments, HTML data attributes, npm package names, and many CLI flags. Arena concept tokens often use kebab-case too.

Why it matters

URLs and CSS cannot use camelCase cleanly; kebab-case is the web’s file-and-path dialect. Getting it wrong breaks routing, selectors, and package installs.

Interview angle

Contrast kebab-case CSS classes with camelCase JS variables, or explain why you’d slugify a blog title into kebab-case for a path.
