camelCase
Identifiers that start lowercase and capitalize each following word — e.g. getUserById, firstName.
Where you see it
Default for variables, functions, and object keys in JavaScript and TypeScript. JSON APIs often use camelCase for field names in web clients.
Why it matters
Mixing camelCase with snake_case in the same layer causes bugs and noisy reviews. Matching the language’s convention is table stakes in frontend and fullstack interviews.
Interview angle
Interviewers may ask why React props use camelCase while HTML attributes are kebab-case, or how you’d map a snake_case API payload into JS objects.
